The Mohammad Family

The Mohammad family moved from Afghanistan to Red Deer in 2012 and are excited to be new residents of Blackfalds in our fully-accessible duplex! They applied to the program after hearing about how Habitat homeownership works through another current homeowner.

Sami and his wife and kids live with Sami’s brother Abdullahand mother, who will benefit from the accessible features of the home due to her back condition.

Their previous home was overcrowded and inadequate for their family, and had several break-ins.The Mohammad family is looking forward to being more independent as homeowners in their new home—and they can breathe easier knowing their kids will have a safe place to grow up.
