CRITICAL REPAIRS
Helping Central Alberta homeowners stay safe and secure in their homes
Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region is developing a new Critical Repairs Program designed to help lower-income homeowners complete essential repairs that affect the safety, accessibility, or livability of their homes.
The program is intended to help homeowners remain safely in the homes they already own while preserving affordable housing throughout Central Alberta.
What could the program help with?
Eligible repairs may include:

Urgent roof repairs

Plumbing and water-related issues

Electrical and heating concerns

Structural and safety repairs
-
Accessibility modifications

Other essential repairs required to keep a home safe and livable
The program will focus on critical repairs, rather than cosmetic renovations or general home improvements.
How will it work?
We are currently designing the program, including eligibility requirements, financing options, partnerships, and the application process.
Our goal is to create an affordable repair program that helps homeowners access necessary repairs while allowing program funds to be reinvested to help future families.
Program Status
The Critical Repairs Program is not currently accepting applications.
We are in the program design stage and expect to begin seeking funding and community partners shortly. Our goal is to launch the program in early 2027, subject to funding availability.
