Community Services Recovery Fund supports the launch of our e-commerce ReStore E-Store!

In 2023, Habitat Red Deer was awarded grant funding of $22,000 from the Community Services Recovery Fund to support the launch of our e-commerce site. This funding enabled us to expand our social enterprise into the digital space and serve customers in an innovative way.

The Community Services Recovery Fund was a $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support community service organizations, including charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies, as they adapt and modernize their organizations.

The grant has been instrumental in helping us develop and launch a user-friendly e-commerce site, allowing us to showcase our products and services to a wider audience. Helping us reach new customers and communities we might not have been able to reach otherwise. We are grateful for the support we have received from the Community Services Recovery Fund and are excited about the potential that our new e-commerce platform holds for the growth of our social enterprise.

The Government of Canada delivered the Community Services Recovery Fund through three National Funders – Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada. The National Funders distributed funding to eligible community service organizations, including charities, non-profits, and Indigenous governing bodies, providing services in communities across Canada. On the local level, we would like to recognize the Community Foundation of Central Alberta for their support.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Community Services Recovery Fund, funded by the Government of Canada, for their support and investment in our business. We are eager to embark on this new chapter and are confident that our e-commerce site will be a valuable addition to our operations.

We recognize that the land on which we work, gather, and live is within the territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples and that the Central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We acknowledge and honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial. We stand with the Indigenous peoples of Alberta and continue to advocate for reconciliation.
