The ReStore: What is it, and how is it related to Habitat for Humanity?

The ReStore is Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region’s social initiative retail location that accepts donations of new or gently used household goods and building supplies. These items are sold to the public at discounted prices, and the funds from these sales help build Habitat homes by covering construction and operational costs.

Supporting the ReStore also promotes environmental sustainability, as the re-use and upcycling of previously owned goods reduces the amount of items which end up in the landfill.

By volunteering your time at the ReStore, or donating or purchasing materials, you are directly contributing to providing affordable homeownership to Central Alberta families.

At Habitat for Humanity Red Deer we build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. Habitat for Humanity believes in a hand up, not a hand out, and contrary to the myth, we do not "give away free houses".

We build safe and decent housing for working families in Central Alberta who wish to become homeowners through a zero down-payment, zero-interest mortgage program.

All proceeds from our ReStore fund our programs and stay within Central Alberta.

Your donations and purchases help local homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves and their families.
