Another paid off mortgage at Habitat for Humanity Red Deer!

Valerie purchased her home in 2002 as a single mother with 2 children. Valerie was present on the build site almost every day while her home was being built - which is a very big accomplishment. Valerie stopped by the Habitat for Humanity Red Deer office, and CEO Karen Vavrek, and Family Services and Office Manager Janelle Duffin had the pleasure of congratulating Valerie in person!

"Thank you for the dream of a lifetime full-filled. I am now a homeowner with much gratitude and awesome memories. I salute you and all the volunteers it took to make this blessing come true." - Valerie Bauer and family

We recognize that the land on which we work, gather, and live is within the territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples and that the Central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We acknowledge and honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial. We stand with the Indigenous peoples of Alberta and continue to advocate for reconciliation.
