Media Release: Habitat for Humanity Red Deer to kick off newest build with Groundbreaking Ceremony

RED DEER, Alberta, April 4, 2022: Habitat for Humanity Red Deer is breaking ground on its 43rd, 44th, 45th, and 46th homes in Central Alberta. The small groundbreaking ceremony, to take place at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 12th at 5616 Vista Trail in Blackfalds, will formally introduce Habitat’s newest partner families and kick off the construction phase.

With a projected possession date of early 2023, Habitat for Humanity Red Deer’s newest build, located in the Aspen Lakes neighborhood in Blackfalds, will be able to accommodate four new Habitat partner families.

“We look forward to working alongside our four new partner families as they take the next steps towards achieving their dreams of owning their own homes! Without a hand up from Habitat for Humanity, the possibility of homeownership is out of reach for many families. In partnership with local communities, volunteers and donors, collectively we are doing our part to ensure that affordable homeownership is still attainable for Central Alberta families.”, says Karen Vavrek, Habitat Red Deer’s CEO.

Once completed, the new Habitat build will serve a total of seven adults and twelve children.

Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region is a registered charitable organization that is dedicated to helping Central Alberta families build better lives through affordable homeownership.
